Tax on luxury cars: budget has already received more than 95 million UAH

Owners of luxury cars have already paid 95.3 million UAH of the transport tax in the first 5 months of this year. This is 2.5 million UAH more than in the corresponding figure last year. 

More than 5.6 thousand people have already paid transport tax.

The biggest amounts came from car owners of:

- Kyiv – 29.5 million UAH,

- Dnipropetrovsk region – 9 million UAH,

- Odessa region – 8.3 million UAH,

- Lviv region – 6.3 million UAH. 

Reminder! Transport tax is paid by owners of passenger cars that were manufactured not more than 5 years ago. Average market cost of such cars must exceed 375 times the minimum wage established by the law as of January 1 of the tax (reporting) year (3 million UAH in 2025). 

Transport tax rate – 25 thousand UAH for each car. 

List of passenger cars is determined by the Ministry of Economy, which posts the full list on its official website (www.me.gov.ua) every year by February 1 of the tax (reporting) year.

In 2025, the following car brands were added to the list: AstonMartin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, GMC,Hymer-Mercedes, Ineos, Jaguar, Lamborghini, LandRover, Lexus, Lotus, Lincoln, McLaren, Maserati, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Maybach, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Toyota. 

Legal entities receive notification about the accrued amount of transport tax in their Electronic cabinet.

For individuals, tax notifications-decisions are generated and sent by mail to the place of tax address. If individuals have applied for correspondence with the State Tax Service’s authorities in the electronic form, they will receive accrual in their Electronic cabinet.
