58% of the respondents support the government’s initiatives on expanding the scope of application of the registrars of calculated operations. 38% of them are individuals who have their own business and 65% - those who want to have it. 25% did not support initiatives and 10% could not give an answer. This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by the Sociological group “Rating” on October 22-30, 2019. 2000 respondents answered question “Taxes and entrepreneurship: estimates and expectations”. Herewith, out of the total number of people who answered the question 49% consider that registrars of calculated operations (RCO) will likely make tax compliance with payment of taxes. 38% of respondents have opposite opinion – they are convinced that RCO are the harassment of small businesses. 13% of the respondents could not give an answer.

Also, 56% supported the imposition of large fines for businesses if the goods were sold without a check. 27% did not support such initiative. However, 55% approve the possibility to receive an electronic check instead of a paper one after purchases. 26% of respondents were against this.

62% of respondents supported creation of an application that will pay all taxes in a smartphone.

Another 74% of respondents supported the adoption of legislation that would counteract big business schemes for withdrawing money abroad and tax evasion.

Also, there were interesting answers to the question “Have you encountered in a situation when the seller did not issue any check for the purchased goods or services over the last year?” Only 38% of respondents did not face such situation. Instead, 29% answered “yes, often” and 31% answered “from time to time”.

Question about the level of confidence of the interviewed citizens towards the State tax service of Ukraine is also important for the tax specialists. So, only 6% trust completely, 15% are more likely to trust, 32% do not trust at all and 22% are more likely do not trust. At the same time, among those who trust the STS, 27% have their own business and 24% want to have it.

Taken into account that the State tax service is fully operational for only a few months, the results of poll is an incentive to improve the work of the service in order to increase our citizens’ trust towards the service.
