State received compensation of more than 156 million UAH of losses since the beginning of year. This is result of six months of work by the State Tax Service’s team together with the law enforcement officers in the counteraction against tax evasion and money laundering. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page.

“Total amount of the identified losses exceeds 336 million UAH. We are working on full compensation of losses caused to the state” – she stated.

Measures taken by the State Tax Service:

- 228 documentary audits on compliance by business entities with requirements of tax, currency and other legislation of Ukraine;

- more than a thousand analytical researches of financial and economic activities of business entities. In more than 70%, signs of crimes according to Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime) were identified;

- sent to the law enforcement officers more than fifty conclusions with established signs of a crime according to Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion);

- law enforcement officers registered 29 criminal proceedings, significant amount of materials was attached to previously initiated criminal proceedings.

The most common "schemes" identified by the State Tax Service’s specialists:

- companies transfer part of their profits to entities on the simplified taxation system in excess of the permitted income amounts. Therefore, they underestimate their tax liabilities and evade taxes.

Together with the law enforcement officers, 32.3 million UAH have already been returned to the budget;

- withdrawal of funds through unreal business transactions, including using artificially created business entities.

As a result of investigation, 40.1 million UAH has been compensated;

- false data in tax reporting.

According to such facts, compensation of more than 16 million UAH has already been provided.

- receipt of budget funds without registering tax invoices and not reflecting transactions in the reporting.

Within the framework of one criminal proceeding, 9 million UAH has already been returned to the budget.

“We are not doing this for the sake of a "tick". And this is not about pressure on business, but about honest relations between the state and business. There cannot be different rules of work. If you work dishonestly, evade taxes – you must understand that you will be held responsible for this. If you have not paid your due – you must return it to the budget. This is precisely about fair and transparent conditions for everyone” –  added acting Head of the State Tax Service.
