Chairman of the STS Serhii Verlanov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Marius Yanukonis and Lithuanian businessmen where he spoke about work and results of the updated Tax service, outlined further steps in improving relationships with the taxpayers and implementing business-friendly initiatives.

Particularly, according to Serhii Verlanov the main factor in increasing tax compliance should be the electronic services that are under active development and improvement.

“Work on reforming the State Tax Service is ongoing. Currently we are working on improving our services. New STS seeks to make them more convenient for the taxpayers, develop and implement international standards. Information and telecommunication system “Electronic cabinet” has already been implemented. At present it is the most popular electronic service. Therefore, we will improve it during the next six months” – noted Serhii Verlanov.

Chairman of the STS also emphasized that the Tax service “restarts” the audit system. Particularly, this year the Tax service will reduce the number of scheduled audits by 20% and strengthen the analytical work that will not only furtherly reduce the number of audits but also increase its effectiveness.

During the meeting, businessmen expressed valuable suggestions and wishes aimed to improve work of the STS. In turn, Serhii Verlanov emphasized that the feedback which STS receives during such events is necessary for reforming the Tax service.

Also, according to Chairman of the STS support of European partners is crucial in the formation of new Tax service. During the meeting, Serhii Verlanov thanked the Lithuanian Republic for its assistance, in particular, for leading participation in implementation of the EU Public Financial Management Program in Ukraine (EU4PFM), one of the directions of which is the reform of the Tax service in Ukraine.
