Dmytro Ventskovskyi: One of the main tasks is honest, professional composition of the Service

Solemn oath of young professionals, participants of the draft project “Dual education: new form of personnel training for the STS bodies” was held on the 16th of January 2020. Ten specialists started to work at the Main Directorate of the STS in Kyiv.

Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Dmytro Ventskovskyi, Head of the Main Directorate of the STS in Kyiv Nonna Bahmet, Director of the project “Effective management of public finances III” Tomas Maier, GIZ representatives and the SFS University leadership congratulated future tax employees.

Opening the event, Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Dmytro Ventskovskyi thanked everyone involved in the realization and implementation of this extremely important project.

He welcomed his new colleagues and emphasized: “The need for young people is crucial at the stage of reforming any state body. Above all, a valuable, unbiased view of people who are able to implement innovative ideas and perform their duties with integrity”

According to Dmytro Ventskovskyi, formation of the new generation of civil servants who was not privy to such shameful phenomenon as corruption - the number one task in forming a powerful professional composition of the Service.

Deputy Chairman also noted the work of mentors. Dmytro Ventskovskyi thanked for professionalism and stressed that modern civil service is impossible without such aspects in work as mentoring, institutional memory, the evolution of experience and knowledge.

Additionally, the Deputy Chairman stated that in the context of recent events at the STS, it has been ordered to carry out urgent full recertification of the tax employees: “We will do our best to hold the most transparent competitions for obtaining vacant posts, we will develop new qualification requirements and you need to become leaders in these tasks” – Dmytro Ventskovskyi appealed to the students.

He advised the new tax employees adhere to the oath and “letter of the law”, as well as to work with dignity and honestly perform their duties.

In turn, Head of the Main Directorate of the STS in Kyiv Nonna Bahmet assured that the young employees will have full support and assistance. Addressing her future colleagues, she emphasized: “Self-education is a contribution to the development of the Service, strengthening its authority.”

All participants expressed their sincere hopes for continuation of the project and involvement of more students in the dual education program in this and subsequent years. Among other things, all present attendants noted the fact that dual form of education has already been approved at the legislative level, since the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law on improving higher education.

It should be reminded that this project is a continuation of the Quadrilateral Memorandum on the Implementation of Dual Education signed in June last year between the State Tax Service, German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the SFS University and Kyiv School of Economics.
