Today, Chairman of the STS Serhii Verlanov had a meeting with delegation of the State Taxation Administration of the People’s Republic of China led by Zhenom Zhunfa the Deputy Chairman of the STA of the People’s Republic of China.

“As of today, the State tax service of Ukraine is undergoing the transformation and it is very important for us to have the practice and experience of other countries in the e-taxation, development of tax systems and improvement of administration processes. More than ever we are open to cooperation, new ideas and constructive collaboration” – stated Serhii Verlanov.

He also determined that improving the level of voluntary payment of taxes by providing fast, comfortable and quality service to the taxpayers is among the priority directions of activity of the Tax service. He noted that the widespread introduction of digital technologies by the Tax service is aimed at ensuring that taxpayers have completely contactless communication with tax officials.

Currently, using the E-cabinet all business entities are fully provided with services that allow them to execute all the necessary functions without contacting the Tax service directly. Serhii Verlanov emphasized that the STS always examines the taxpayer’s demand and thoroughly analyzes directly the business process in the development of each service.

“In the process of creation services, we are maximally committed to ensure that information is exchanged between agencies to minimize taxpayer’s involvement, relieve them of unnecessary activity and waste time.”– stated Serhii Verlanov.

Thus, with the introduction of electronic services, the number of taxpayers who contact service centers is constantly decreasing. Today, the customers of the Taxpayer service centers are exclusively citizens.

Serhii Verlanov informed representatives of the State Taxation Administration of the People’s Republic of China about ongoing work on reviewing tax audit practices that should reduce the number of audits and increase level of payment as a result of such audits and reduce the amount of litigation.

Chinese colleagues were also interested in experience of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in administering and monitoring risky VAT operations. Mr. Zhunfa invited leadership of the STS of Ukraine to Beijing to familiarize themselves with experience of Chinese tax officials.
