State Tax Service of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, has taken another step towards the full digitalization of tax services. From now on, it is possible to submit annual property status and income declaration, as well as apply for the tax rebate, simply through the "Diia" portal.
This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page.
According to her, this year, 176 thousand citizens have already reported their income within the declaration campaign. So now those who want to get the tax rebate can use the new digital method.
"Citizens can submit declaration for the tax rebate until the end of the year. This year, the State Tax Service has already received 57.4 thousand declarations from Ukrainians who wish to return part of the personal income tax paid for certain expenses" – Lesya Karnaukh stated.
Importantly, the system provides automatic pre-filling of data based on information from the State Tax Service. This greatly simplifies submission process, minimizes errors and reduces time to receive the service.
How to use the service:
1. Log in to the Diia portal using a qualified electronic signature.
2. Find the service "Tax property status and income declaration of individuals".
3. Choose the option: declare income or receive tax rebate.
4. Check data – the system will pull information from the State Tax Service’s databases.
5. For the tax rebate, select the type and enter amount of expenses incurred for:
- education – payment for kindergarten, school and other educational institutions;
- mortgage – payment of interest on a loan;
- insurance – contributions under the long-term life insurance contracts or non-state pension provision;
- medical services – expenses for assisted reproductive technologies or certain types of treatment;
- charity – donations to non-profit organizations.
6. Upload documents about expenses: receipts, checks, contracts with service providers, etc.
7. Enter the invoice for which you want to receive the rebate.
8. Check the declaration, sign it with a qualified electronic signature and send.
"Tax services in a few clicks are important development component of the State Tax Service’s services. Submitting declarations through already familiar and convenient interface of the Diia portal for Ukrainians will simplify the taxpayers’ interaction with the Tax Service. Next declaration campaign will be even more active due to the new method of income reporting. Although traditional methods also continue to work and improve" – Lesya Karnaukh emphasized.
