Issue of preservation of the natural resource potential of Ukraine is relevant and, above all, it is related to the creation of effective mechanisms of environmental regulation, including the environmental tax. It is difficult to overestimate importance of the environmental tax for Donetsk region, since almost two-thirds of the region’s population lives in territories where atmospheric air does not meet the established standards.
First of all, the environmental tax is needed for partial compensation for the reproduction of natural resources and to minimize the negative impact on them made by the business activity of enterprises.
Over 11 months of 2019, enterprises of Donetsk region paid 1 155.9 million UAH of the environmental tax to the budgets of all levels. As follows, the state budget received 621.7 million UAH; the treasury of local communities received 534.2 million UAH. Thus, the average monthly revenue of the environmental tax from the beginning of 2019 in the Donetsk region is more than 105 million UAH.
Main Directorate of the STS in Donetsk region reminds that the deadline for submission of the environmental tax declaration for the fourth quarter of 2019 and payment of the tax is the 10th and the 19th of February, 2020 respectively. Protecting the environment is our common concern, so we urge Donetsk enterprises to pay environmental taxes in time and full amount.
