Global digital giants increase VAT payments to the state budget. “Google tax” revenues amounted to 4.5 billion UAH in the first quarter of 2026. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page.
“Dynamics is positive: +28% per year. Last year, international companies paid 3.5 billion UAH of tax on electronic services in the first quarter” – she added.
In total, in 2026, non-residents have already paid:
- 41.7 million Euros;
- 54.2 million US dollars.
Tax leaders are global tech giants: Apple, Google, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy and Netflix.
Ukraine is attractive market for content consumption. To date, 152 non-residents who carry out such operations in Ukraine have already registered as the VAT payers.
Tax is paid by foreign companies (non-residents) that provide electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine.
This particularly includes services for online advertising, access to video and audio content, cloud solutions, software and other digital products.
“This is about fair competition and equal rules for Ukrainian companies and international giants. This is a significant additional resource for financing defense, social sphere and economic recovery. Thank to every taxpayer!” – emphasized acting Head of the State Tax Service.
