On the 20th of February we remember each of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
Ordinary people – teachers, students, artists, fathers and sons – stood up for the right to live in a free country. Without weapons, with only wooden shields and unbreakable faith.
They became our first heroes in this long struggle for independence.
Today, when Ukraine is engulfed in the flames of war, we realize: feat of the Heavenly Hundred became the basis of our invincibility.
It is about the courage not to retreat to the last.
It is about love for the native land that overcomes fear.
It is about memory that inspires us to hold on and fight.
We remember what such a high price was paid for.
Heroes do not die as long as we continue their work.
