Representatives of the State Tax Service and Finnish Tax Administration (VERO) spoke about introduction of modern approaches to reform, risk management and improving integrity during a workshop organized within the framework of Memorandum between the Tax Services of Ukraine and Finland.
Participants exchanged the best practices in combating money laundering and anti-corruption cooperation. They also considered possibilities of adapting thematic training programs of the Nordic countries to Ukrainian realities.
In addition, they discussed standardization of approaches to the project management and development of a Code of ethical behavior for State Tax Service’s employees.
According to the results of work:
- common vision of cooperation in the combating money laundering and sanctions control was formed;
- format of future training programs and specific steps for their implementation were determined;
- project structure for development and implementation of a new Code of ethical behavior was agreed, creation of which was discussed during the negotiation process of Section 16 "Taxation";
- final discussions were held on further implementation of the joint project plan.
Effective cooperation between the State Tax Service and VERO, exchange of experience and latest practices will contribute to the development of a transparent, effective and modern tax system in Ukraine.
