Preventive measures of the State Tax Service in the retail sector: almost 4.6 million UAH of cash payments were brought out of the shadows

4.6 million UAH of cash was reflected in May sales through the RRO by retail entities that received preventive notifications from the State Tax Service. 1 302 such letters were received via the electronic cabinets by business entities in whose stores, cafes and restaurants payments in March were made exclusively in the cashless form.

Purpose of notifications is to draw the taxpayers’ attention to possible violations in case of failure to make payments through the RRO for product sales, particularly for cash.

Having compared revenues for May 2025 with the list of taxpayers to whom notifications were sent, the State Tax Service records the following results of preventive work:

- about 450 business entities (34% of those informed) reflected cash payments in their revenues, removing about 4.6 million UAH of cash revenues from the shadows;

- about 300 business entities (23% of those informed) report no revenues or RRO has been canceled;

- more than 500 business entities (43%) continue to make non-cash payments without reflecting cash.

Therefore, the number of retail entities operating exclusively through shops, cafes and restaurants in a cashless manner has decreased.

Monitoring of activities of such entrepreneurs continues to ensure completeness of revenue declaration and tax payment. Further use of preventive impact notifications will strengthen tax discipline and promote transparency in the retail sector.
