Audits of electronics and appliances retail: violators are fined with 228 million UAH

State Tax Service conducted more than 2 thousand audits of the retail sale of appliances and electronics, during which large-scale violations were identified since the beginning of 2025. This was informed by Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko in the Telegram channel.

According to him, more than 228 million UAH of fines have already been imposed on violators.

"Both large chains and online platforms are checked. Main violations are the products sale without fiscalization of checks, accounting of product balances and documents confirming product origin, use of special software that generates fake checks" – stated Head of the State Tax Service.

During the most actual audits, specialists of the State Tax Service carried out timing of business transactions. At the same time, sales volumes at the retail facilities increased by many times.

As Ruslan Kravchenko stated, in one small well-known electronics network, specialists of the State Tax Service uncovered tax evasion scheme. 

This network has been under the close attention of tax authorities for a long time. Network, last year, was divided into individuals-entrepreneurs for conducting business. Tax authorities identified 25 business entities – single tax payers of Group II. 35 actual audits were already conducted in 2024, and more than 300 thousand UAH of fines were imposed. Based on the research results, materials were transferred to the Bureau of Economic Security. Bureau of Economic Security, according to available data, initiated criminal proceedings on the basis of the above specified facts on grounds of criminal offenses.

According to operational information, this network was acquired in 2025 by owners of a larger chain of electronics stores (by the way, it was also recently exposed for tax evasion). Business facilities are re-registered as a legal entity from May 2025.

Currently, 14 actual audits are ongoing. State Tax Service is already recording product sale without checks, accounting and documents. Network will be fined.

In addition, entrepreneur was detected in Kyiv who also sells electronics without RRO/PRRO in a hardware store and through online store without proper product accounting. 

One store of a well-known chain was also recorded carrying out sale of household appliances without proper product accounting in Rivne region.

"Therefore, fines are not the main goal. Task is to bring market out of the shadows as much as possible. So that all its participants work under equal conditions and pay appropriate taxes" – emphasized Ruslan Kravchenko.
