Ruslan Kravchenko: More than 116 million UAH of fines have already been accrued based on the audit results of tobacco trade since the beginning of year

Employees of the State Tax Service conducted more than 6.5 thousand audits in tobacco trade during the first four months of 2025. Based on their results, fines totaling 116.2 million UAH were accrued. This is 87.7% more than the last year. This was informed by Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko in the Telegram channel. 

In addition, tax officials initiated seizure of tobacco products worth more than 20 million UAH.

Case researches: 

- during audit of stores owned by individual-entrepreneur, numerous sales facts of tobacco products without using RRO/PRRO were established in Zhytomyr region. Entrepreneur received fine of more than 600 thousand UAH;

- employees of the State Tax Service, together with the law enforcement officers, exposed individuals who were illegally producing and selling cigarettes in Khmelnytskyi region. These violators will face fine of almost 900 thousand UAH.

"Fines are not just about punishment. Our task is not to implement spot measures, but to systematically counteract shadow circulation of excisable products. First of all, it is about preventing tax evasion schemes and creating equal working conditions for all market participants" – stated Head of the State Tax Service.

Another important story in the counteraction against shadow market is partnership with citizens. State Tax Service called on everyone who knows about violations to inform the Tax Service about them.
