Attention: Fraudsters are sending fake mails on behalf of the State Tax Service

Sending of fake mails allegedly on behalf of the State Tax Service were discovered by the State Tax Service’s cybersecurity specialists together with the Governmental Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine CERT-UA.

Mails are sent with subject “Request for documents from Main Directorate of the State Tax Service of Ukraine: *NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION*” and attachment in the form of a PDF file. They contain a link to the service where the JS script “Request from Main Directorate of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Electronic Document Management System 22.05.2025- 0048811.pdf.js” is located. Going to it leads to downloading and launching software for remote control of users’ computers.

It is recommended not to open attachments in suspicious mails.

It should bereminded that all official State Tax Service’s e-mail addresses must contain this domain name "tax.gov.ua" after the symbol «@».

We emphasize: there is a real danger for personal computers being infected with viruses spread by email. 

Phishing mails contain a link or attached archive file containing software to gain remote access to users’ computers. Attackers’ goal is to trick the user into opening attachment.

Using the e-mail:

observe personal cyber hygiene;

be careful and attentive opening attachments, even if they come from known recipients;

do not open received attachments without first confirming the fact of sending such mail by its sender.
