Acting Chairman of the STS Tetiana Kirienko had a meeting with leaders of the Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine Grigol Katamadze and Lyudmyla Herasimenko

Working meeting of acting Chairman of the STS Tetiana Kirienko with President of the Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine (abb. APPU) Grigol Katamadze and Director General of the APPU Lyudmyla Herasimenko took place on 17.01.2022.

Tetiana Kirienko with the APPU’s leadership Grigol Katamadze and Lyudmyla Herasimenko discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and future plans for joint work.

“We have common goal – to implement reforms in order to create favorable conditions for business through tax mechanisms, ensure accelerated economic growth and encourage business to un-shadow, voluntary payment of taxes to the budget of Ukraine to develop domestic production, attract investment, reduce discretion and minimize authorities’ corruption, so effective cooperation with a powerful organization that defends the taxpayers’ interests is in the focus of the STS’s interests” – stated Tetiana Kirienko.

Tetiana Kirienko expressed support towards the APPU’s principled position on ensuring constructive dialogue between business and government on all outstanding issues and noted active participation of APPU in preparing suggestions to improve tax legislation and work to improve knowledges of taxpayers – members of Association through seminars, webinars, prompt solution of problematic issues of taxpayers – members of Association at the legislative level by holding round tables, working meetings with participation of the STS’s specialists and its territorial bodies.

Grigol Katamadze, during meeting, informed acting Chairman of the STS about a number of important issues that the Association has been working on in recent years, in particular, the draft Development Tax Code, an integral part of which are innovations such as replacing corporate income tax with withheld capital tax, gradually reducing the payroll burden within three years: total of the PIT, SSC and military levy by not more than 20% and others. 

Grigol Katamadze informed Tetiana Kirienko about the First International Forum that will be conducted by the APPU with working title: “Protection of business from pressure from regulatory and law enforcement agencies” approximately in April this year. He also suggested acting Chairman of the STS to personally take part in the first panel of “Tax Legislation Novels”.

Meeting resulted in agreement to continue exchanging views on ways to address issues of concern to honest taxpayers – members of APPU.

Participants also agreed to hold an online meeting in the form of video conference in the near future with members of the APPU’s Council of all regions of Ukraine and Kyiv city with business representatives – members of the Association.
