Returning from military service to civilian life is always about finding new points of support, adapting and choosing: where experience, concentration and sense of responsibility can be of the most use today.
For Iryna, the Tax Consultant Office in Kyiv became such a new step. After the service, she decided to direct efforts into a field where endurance, empathy and ability to listen to people are needed every day. Today, she is a moderator of the Tax Consultant Office, the same person who meets veterans who opened their own business after demobilization. She understands well adaptation challenges after the service and helps former military personnel confidently navigate tax procedures and the first steps in entrepreneurship.
“It was important for me not just to find a job, but to feel that my work is needed by others – Iryna shares. In the army, you learn every day to stay focused, make decisions quickly and lend a shoulder. In civilian work, these skills do not disappear, they are transformed. When a person comes to us with anxiety or lack of understanding of complex tax rules, my task is to relieve this tension, orient them, direct them to the right specialist, and make the person feel that they are really ready to help here”.
Work of the Office moderator is about the first contact, openness and humanity. Behind each appeal there is a living business: entrepreneur who has just opened a coffee shop, craft producer or accountant of a large enterprise. And when they are met on the front line by calm, attentive and sincere support, the very perception of interaction with the Tax Service changes.
Iryna’s story is example of successful reintegration of veterans, when the state opens the doors, and defenders find their new space to serve the country already in the rear.
