State Tax Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, is taking the next step in digitalizing services for Ukrainians abroad. As of July 30, registration service in the State Register of Individuals – Taxpayers and obtaining electronic taxpayer card with a QR code will be available to all citizens of Ukraine abroad.
This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service, Lesya Karnaukh.
“We are close to our people even thousands of kilometers away. We are expanding capabilities of the “e-Consul” service. Together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, we have joined forces to make state services more convenient for Ukrainians, no matter where in the world they live. In May of this year, we introduced mechanism that allows parents living abroad to apply for online tax number for children under 18 years old. From today, this service is also available to all adults abroad” – she informed.
Forget about long complicated procedure and queues. To obtain the taxpayer registration card number (tax number), the person will no longer have to come to Ukraine in person or send notarized documents by mail.
All is needed is a valid ID.
How to apply?
1. It is possible to submit application through own electronic account in the “e-Consul” system. It is needed to log in using Diia.Signature, qualified electronic signature or BankID, fill out the form and attach scanned copies of necessary documents (including identity document and document confirming place of residence/stay).
2. In person or through a representative at the embassy or consulate. If the person chooses to submit paper application through foreign diplomatic mission of Ukraine:
Conditions: personal presence of the applicant (or authorized/legal representative) at the foreign diplomatic mission is required for identification of person and provision of original documents. Consular fee amount of 40 USD / 37 EUR is charged for automated data processing during acceptance of paper application.
State Tax Service will process relevant application as quickly as possible. Then will be created the taxpayer card in the electronic form with protected QR code. And in a few days it will be sent it via the “e-Consul” system.
“By the way, the first stage – registration of the tax number for children is extremely popular. In two months through the “e-Consul” we have received more than 2.1 thousand applications from parents and issued 1 772 electronic cards for children abroad” – noted acting Head of the State Tax Service.
Lesya Karnaukh added that development of this service is important step towards creating convenient and barrier-free digital space for Ukrainians anywhere in the world. But for the State Tax Service, it is not only a digital tool. This is example of when the state helps, not complicates.
“We will continue to do everything to make Ukrainian state services simple, modern and accessible to everyone” – noted acting Head of the State Tax Service.
At this stage, the service covers registration in the State Register of Individuals –Taxpayers in the Form № 1DR. However, the State Tax Service is not stopping there: the next step will be the launch of online service for making changes to the Register in the Form № 5DR. In general, development of this service is important step towards creating convenient and barrier-free digital space for Ukrainians anywhere in the world.
